A group of us associated with Vermont Center for Photography are looking to do some polling place photography tomorrow, but as far as I know it's not related to this.

One way or another, history will be made tomorrow, seems like a worthwhile thing to document.

A word to the wise, some states have laws prohibiting the use of cameras inside the polling location, or within a certain distance of the polls.

I saw one person early this morning using a Leica to photograph the line of queued voters which is perfectly legal in my state. However once inside the polling building he was asked to put the camera away as it is illegal to photograph there in the state of Georgia.

Coincidentally I heard a news report about this on the local radio driving to the poll.

Also some people may not appreciate being photographed so be polite if you do choose to shoot in the voting zones.

when I went to vote this afternoon, the poll worker asked me to turn off my cell phone so that I could not take a picture or send a text message from inside the polling place. Which was alright with me. I was just there to do my civic duty and I do not need electronic appliances for that.

My polling place was thoroughly boring, though other stations around the city had huge lines.
