Yes, Walker Evans shot a lot of colour polaroid, especially trash and road signs at the end of his life. Samaras did a lot of manipulations also, Robert Frank shot polaroid too.
Interesting article.

Evan's Polaroid work was wonderful... as the article said, it made picture taking joyful for the Masters as it did for the rest of us.

Ansel Adam's grandpa pictures with his SX70 are lots of fun.

The article makes one error, though:

Quite simply, digital technology redefined Polaroid's "now," turning it into something even more like "now" than Polaroid had been able to offer. Or maybe it changed the meaning of "now," or replaced it with something more like "already."

Getting the 'now' from the LCD of a digicam is simply the concept of a potential multiple artgasm. It doesn't work, though, unless you can thumbtack your cellphone to your office wall.
