I've got 2 sealed boxes and an opened one of 55 in the freezer. I never did get a film holder for this stuff, so for $20 each? It is old stock, it might be OK, but then it might not.
If you do have aged color 545 film, treasure it and use it well! It will probably have some interesting color renditions, might be very nice for transfers etc.
You can also modify a 545 holder to use with fuji quickloads, if you can get your hands on any of those.
I have several boxes of *refrigerated* 55 and 665. Haven't decided what to do with it yet but I do love the stuff.
@Cruzingoose: the issue is really just crystalisation of wet chemicals in the film, the extent of which will depend on a thousand different factors - important the time it took to freeze the film.
People have apparently had good results with freezing film with liquid nitrogen (or something similar) and then vacuum-seeling it.
PS: Don't even drunk drivers usually buy the cars whilst they're sober...?
There's always eBay. I've had pretty hit and miss luck with it, sometimes it works great, others not even a bit. It's sure fun either way though, you never know how they'll turn out.
I've used and use both Fuji Quickloads & Kodak Readyloads in my 545i with good (functional) luck, my crummy pictures are another issue.
