Here's one from out of the dim past - I have a like-new condition Polaroid 35mm film processor, plus a roll of Polachrome color and one Polapan B&W film, still in original packaging. For those who never saw this material, it has unique rendering qualities: the emulsion side has a silvery look (forget dyes!) and the color transparencies have a quality of soft color plus a very fine pattern reminiscent of line screens.

Here is a detail:

From this 35mm Polachrome:

(hmm, resizing for the upload seems to have diminished the textures a bit, but hopefully the idea still comes across)

The story I heard many years ago when I first tried this stuff was that this was originally developed to be consumer movie film - you would shoot it then develop it yourself, immediately - it probably sounded like it would compete well against Super8 movies, which you had to ship to labs & wait for them to process & return. But then before it could be brought to market, video and camcorders appeared. So Polaroid re-positioned the product as an instant film for photographers. Whatever the history, many photographers enjoyed the unique look of this stuff.

To shoot this, you load the 35mm film cassette into your camera & shoot it the same as any conventional film. Then after the last exposure, the rewound cassette is loaded into the Polaroid Auto Processor, close it up, then manually crank the film back through the Processor. The film & developing jelly are bonded and an entire roll of finished slides comes out the other end of the Processor.

I am including a roll of Polachrome & one Polapan (B&W slides, smooth tonalities without the strong "line-screen" effect). I have no idea if any more of this film exists, so think of this as a potentially fun experiment, even if it turns out to be a one-shot deal. Also these two rolls are almost 30 years old, so it's possible the developing chemistry jelly may have dried out - you'll have to just try them & see.

I am not going to use these myself, so it would be nice to see someone else do so and maybe make something interesting, or just have some fun. Priced accordingly, $30 plus shipping gets you the whole outfit. Good Luck! and thanks for looking.
