Pointers please on my Praktica B100 (beginner)

Hey everyone. I know it's an old thread but I might find the help I need here, i've been looking online for about 2 hours now, and sorry if my english is not really good, i'm French.
I just got a PRAKTICA B100 and i'm a beginner too.

there is something i don't know how to use : It's the needle / Exposure meter that we can see on the right of the viewfinder.
I'm wondering if , to get a normal / good exposure ( = not having an underexposed / overexposed picture) the needle needs to be horizontal (so around of the middle of the viewfinder) or does it need to point at the shutter speed where you can see a black mark beside ?

I've attached a picture to make it clear.

Any help would be really appreciated so I would not waste a full roll / film to know I was wrong or right understanding how this needle works!

First of all you command of English is excellent. The needle needs to point to the dot as shown in B.

Looks like the dot is there for battery check, nothing more..

After re-reading the user manual again I think I finally understood (thanks to Dali who Pm'ed me with an explanation) and yeah, that dot seems to be a battery check marker!

Thanks Sutterfinger. I have the original manual owner, it just sometimes sounded like gibberish and I needed some extra explanations !

I have not seen any gibberish there.

Your Practica model is an autoexposure model. And ONLY autoexposure.

You set the aperture at the aperture ring of the lens. Your setting will also be visible in finder.

With the release slightly pressed the camera is metering and the needle moves to the respective shutter speed.

In case you dislike the indicated speed, turn the aperture dial, if possible, for the needle to indicate a more appropriate speed.
