Depends what you're used to. I'm often out on the Point wearing merely a T-shirt. You can always tell when people are from inland because they're
wearing thick jackets. Conversely, when I go inland in summer, I have to get up to nine or ten thousand feet of altitude to feel comfortable. My own
place is usually in the mid-fifties all summer, with the wind howling right off the Bay. Mark Twain had a famous saying: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco".

Ha! I knew someone would say that. Actually there are a couple guys working here who wear shorts all year long, even on the coldest days, so they'll be accustomed to cold water. Scuba addicts. They sometimes go out to Bird Rock, offshore of Tomales Point at Pt Reyes, for abalone diving.
Great spot. Has a giant waterspout, plus a lot of seal lions.... therefore a lot of patrolling great white sharks too. I prefer it with my feet on land.
