I don't live in the country but...
Pyro developers including PMK are fairly easy to mix up yourself and the chemistry is usually available from multiple sources - even non-photographic suppliers. A scale is required but usually cheap.
There was a time when you could not buy all of this stuff premixed - not too long ago. The sources for premixed stuff are few and far between and pretty specialized. You may find it very economical and really flexible in that you can experiment with other formulas as well. Like Kodak D-1/ABC, WD2D, etc, etc.
The only precautions that I take are:
- I do it in my garage with the door open.
- I wear a paper mask.
- Pyro is nasty stuff in powder form that you do not want dust laying around or want to breath. Once in liquid solution it's not bad just wear gloves while processing.
