A few weeks ago I bought a working LC-A on Etsy, and really like it. I like it so much, in fact, that I have since bought a new LC-Wide (which I really like as well). You can't beat having a camera in your pocket all the time!

However, it seems that my LC-A has started skipping frames (shutter does not fire), and I'm guessing that its mostly happening in low light. I just developed two rolls, and one had a bunch of blank frames (randomly distributed throughout the roll). Confusingly, the second roll (the most recently shot) was perfect: no blank frames at all. I'm hoping that it's an easy fix, but would like to send the camera for a CLA anyway. Can anyone recommend a shop/person to send the camera out to, preferably in the US?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a shop (anywhere) that sells reliably CLA'd Lomo cameras (I suspect that buying a CLA'd one from eastern Europe might be cheaper than sending mine out to be repaired in the U.S, though repairing it would be my first option)?

Thanks,

FL

You should just buy one of my Cosina CX-2s. It is what Lomo copied to make the LC-A, except of course Lomo made it of poorer quality.
Plus if comes with a "Motor Drive"! That you of course can remove. Lomo started to develop that but never followed through.
Plus it comes with the deep sea diving housing! Made for the CX-2 by Cosina! Perfect for those rowdy nights out! (remember those? Neither do I..)

Of course I put new light seals in the camera, and it works perfectly etc etc
$200 + $15.50 shipping. (USPS express post)

FYI that is not a crack in the glass on the housing. It is the hotshoe cable inside the housing.

Damn, that's tempting. Let me do some back of the napkin math and get back to you ...

Ok, after giving it some thought I'll have to pass. It's tempting, but I've more than enough cameras at the moment, and need to focus on maintaining and using what I already have. Thanks for the offer, though!
