Hi All,

If you are getting error messages at the top of the forum pages please post here to let me know.

Thanks!
Sean

Many errors are currently fixed by this workaround:

Sean, I was just getting 'connection refused' messages whenever I clicked on any link - left it about 10 mins and I'm back in now.

I've been doing some work on the server, can you post a specific link or point me to where you got the error, I'd like to try to reproduce it here. Thanks

This should be just a moderator thing, but, if I go to the Links section and click on "modify site" (I was trying to remove some spam links from the "Books" section), I get--

Sorry Sean, they were just random clicks and I hadn't seen the call for errors at that point - just considered them to be a transitory condition and moved on. I'll be sure to keep a record if anything similar ever happens again.

Hi Sean. I am unable to upload images to the gallery. I keep getting the message
"Unable to create image: [/home/chris/public_html/gallery/uploads/29/sign2_web.jpg]"

Image is JPG 428X600 86K in size. I will try another image.

Thanks,
John

Sounds like an issue with that file. Can you send the file to me apug.org@gmail.com

Thanks

Sean, That file was bad. Strange, but I didn't get errors using any of the file viewers. When I tried to load in PS, I got an error. These were retrieved from a ghost archive. I hope the other files in the "archive" are OK.

Thanks for the help,
John

Got a PM from a member called Willrea a few days ago, saying they wanted to buy a photo - it was an automatic link from the 'purchase' option on my apug portfolio. They didn't give details about sizes etc so I emailed back asking for more info. Have never received reply to my email. Then noticed that it was a new member who had made 0 posts. Spam?

here's the message I got when clicking on Willrea's name:
Safari can’t open the page “http://member.php/?u=23511” because it can’t find the server “member.php”.

Cheers,
Gavin

I have paid for 2 years (2 succesive paypal purchases), but still have no right to post or reply in forums.

It has been going on since may 2008, and therefore I have not been active on APUG as wanted.

Can you please fix my problem

Sean;

I've been tracing the slow activity of APUG and the problems, and they all appear to be coming from the internet. I am on cable, hard wired and am able to trace the problem back to the cable server/router or to the internet. It gets a timeout, bad signal or no response from APUG. The bad signal freezes my browser, but this is VERY rare. Usually I get a timeout error, or a message from my cable provider that there is a problem with the site "apug.org".

Sean, I am getting only intermittent connection to APUG

I am in the UK and log on at normal UK times.

It only seems to have happened in the last 2 weeks – before that I was fine.

Sometime, I get no response when I log in, other times I log in without problems but then am unable to open threads or move from one page to another.

I get the usual Explorer unable to find the web site message

I am using IE7 & XP Service Pack3

I am not experiencing problems with other web sites at this time.

Are there problems with the Servers dropping out?

Thanks

Martin

"Find More Posts by ..." - Not Working?

Hi Sean,

I'm noticing that when reading posts in a thread and then click on the person's screen name to try to "Find More Posts" by them, I am met with an error page telling me that...

"This forum requires that you wait 5 seconds between searches. Please try again in 5 seconds."

Thanks.
