Please Help! Problem Coolscan 9000/Vuescan

Howdy folks,

Having an issue with my 9000ED scanner and Vuescan.

When I try to preview or scan in Vuescan I get a dialogue box that says, "scanner is not ready, insert film into scanner".

There is film loaded and no blinking light coming from the Nikon.

The Vuescan software is 9x64 (9.0.08)
I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.5

When ever I've had a problem I written to Ed Hamrick @ Vuescan....follow the links on his website as to what to include in your "help" message. He has never failed to write back quickly. He's a one one!

Did you ever find a fix for this?

I am having the same problem with the 8000ED and VueScan.
The strange thing is that it was working yesterday!

I have had this on my 9000 and Vuescan in which case I eject the tray and close Vuescan. The problem disappears when I relaunch VS. I suspect it may have something to do with the scanner not having been fully initialised before VS is run. I remember reading somewhere that one should let the scanner start fully (green light stops blinking, takes a while actually), then insert the tray. And only then launch VS.
