Les,

The website is wonderful. Very well done. I will be especially enjoying the articles section. Thank you for including this.

Nice work, Les. The layout is neat, and the presentation is good. The only slight problem I saw with the presentation was there is some irregular text spacing in the "About Les" page (it appears that there are two or more spaces between some words). Other than that, I've bookmarked it.

Les, it looks great at first glance. Good to see the site up and running...missed the old one, now get to see it anytime I need a fix from my friend across the pound.

Les,

Nice site, great work!

One thing I noticed in a quick glance. Once the viewer go to a larger version of the image there is navigation to the next large photo and to the previous photo, But not back to the thumbnail page.

Also when on the photo detail page Your branding (name) at the top of the page goes away. You should have that on every page. That way when they print out the page you name is printed out with the photo.

Looks great.

Congratulations on the final product. It's a beautiful site. the articles are exactly what we need to get to the next level. Having seen the original of some of these it is interesting to note that the digital images are close - but not up to them in vibrancy.

(Here comes the mktg department...)

Imagine coming to your page without any knowledge of who you are....

On the front page, you have more space for words than pictures. Is this what you want?

It would be better to encourage exploration by web visitors, the text on the homepage is redundant against the 'about' page and perhaps too self-conscious. An important question is: is this website meant to drive sales? Of images, or words? Those nav links at the top are WAY too small, especially given that the rest of the page has no links at all. Lack of crosslinking is a problem throughout the site.

Again, with the 'articles' page, there is a curious lack of imagery. I thought this was a photo site? Likewise with the articles themselves.

On the 'about Les' it's not made entrely clear if you attended those masterclasses or taught them.

The entry to the 'gallery' sub-pages have pics but they're still small and smaller than the titles. The bullets are not hyperlinked, nor are the images themselves. Think about where they eye is drawn when people view a page, make that clickable....

Avoid generic link names like 'Index' - lots of pages are called 'index,' index of WHAT?

Clicking on images in a gallery shouldn't go back to the index of that image collection and then force the reader to reload the entire gallery in flash just to look at the next image. It should advance to the next image. In general the flash loading seems excessive. And when viewing an image you have to find out that clicking it goes to the gallery sub-index, because there's no actual labelled 'gallery index' button.

'Sales' should have links to the galleries, and the galleries clearer links to sales and a mention of sales at the very head of the gallery hierarchy. The info on the 'sales' page should just be errata or 'details.' It's too hard to order and confusing and there are no pictures of what to expect.

The browser-default 'Order' button looks odd and out of place considering that you have image-based buttons everywhere else and flash-based image viewing.

'Archive' of what? It's empty.

No APUG link?

Don't mean to be hard on you, Les. I think you deserve a great website is all

I like the look of it. I mean, any photographer's website with Iron Maiden photos in his gallery has to get my vote. I've two issues, however.

Once I start navigating through the gallery, there are no links to go anywhere except back to the main gallery page and then that's only by clicking on the image itself. You have a banner with hyperlinks across the top on all pages except once you're navigating through the gallery. For consistency sake, consider putting the banner on those pages, too.

The second is that on the gallery main page my first instinct is to click on the image to enter the gallery.

Thanks to all for the comments and especially to bjorke for the marketing comments, as you so clearly pointed out, I am not a marketing man I'm a photographer. I will pass on the comments from you all to the guy who built it. I'm looking forward to developing the site and adding new work and aticles at regular intervals.
