I think you should reconsider the title of this thread.

That is one strange lens. But it should be a lot of fun.

HOLY CRAP. You've completely trumped the timeless classic of the naked woman in nature... TWO naked ladies in nature. Touching!

Wow.

indeed - almost as classic as your latest image: a tree in the nature...

Nothing against artistic effects, but sometimes I would really prefere the lens to be a bit sharper

true..

it is a learning process to get to know what kind of images to do with this thingy..

ex my "Sudek terasse"... (attachment.)

No, a tree in nature is boring. A nude woman - never get tired of that, no matter how cliché

BTW, I really like your recently posted bromoil in the gallery. I just found a book on bromoil in the university bookstore and picked it up as it was only $30. I'd never even considered the process before, nevermind knew what it was, and having stumbled upon this book I'm very intrigued.

They're always getting in the way in my pictures too. I have to chase them off before I press the shutter!

Steve.

Love that lens! It looks like it would be so much fun to play with. I'm thinking Jim Galli would also like that lens. Did you see his cowboy wedding portraits? They had gorgeous bokeh. I'm inspired to try something a little different since I have only one camera. Time to try new things!

And talk about the (leica)glow
Thats a great fun lens and a great effect.
Looks a bit like some of the pics in "Exploring simple lenses"
Kind regards
Søren

Hey thats an interesting website and some great info on almost everything.
Last update in august though. Have you seen any cheap 5X7 cameras there?
Kind regards
Søren

LOL! I missed this all day long. I need to pay better attention. What a marvelous LOOK! One of those lens you would never find if you looked forever on purpose. Just have to get lucky. What is all the stuff that looks like tape on the lens?

jim. the lens came in a compur shutter, but not a well working one..
I had another slightly bigger one, and found out, that putting a ring, cut out of thick cardboard, I could fit the plasticca in this working shutter...

not too pretty, but it works.

best regards

by the way: I got another fun lens! check out the fungus on this beauty!
havn't tried it yet, but it might become my "secret weapon" in the future, as the fungus must be one of a kind..

a natural soft focus on an originally made soft focus lens...

That looks like cement failure to me, more than fungus. The cement has started to crystallise around small impurities in the cement, and from there separations have spread. The dendritic pattern is quite typical - but it takes a very thick cement layer to make this happen!

i love it when my lens de-cement and get fungus all over the elements too

the image looks like one of those 19th century idealist images
with fairies and butterflies ... ( hand coloured on glass  )

nice stuff gandolfi!

Emil-

marvelous web page, both design and content. I bookmarked it for the future so you need to keep shooting :^) All those nudists walking into your compositions- why there should be a law against that! Are there no police to call for help?

I have a period 'knock-off' of the Plasticca - Kronar imade by O. Simon in Dresden, f/4 350mm. Have not used it much due to the fixed f/4 aperture requiring a high speed shutter. Now I will have to find a solution. Are your images made witht he yellow filter that came with the Plasticca?

Thanks for starting this thread- send more images!
