I would like to build a pano head to be used with a Mamiya 645. As this would be a limited usage item for me, I don't want to buy one. The ones that are commercially available are quite expensive (and I'm not sure that they could handle the weight). I've found some plans on the web, but they appear to be for fairly light weight DSLR's or digicams. If anyone has built one for an MF camera and is willing to share or direct me to the plans, it would be greatly appreciated.

This DIY head design seems to be well thought out and sturdy: http://www.digicaminfo.btinternet.co.uk/panohead.htm

At first glance, it looks like it can be used with more than one camera. I'm going to play around with some measurements and if it looks like I can use it with both my DSLR's and the Mamiya, I'll build one. This way I can try it out shooting digital and then use it for film.
If anyone can reference any similar designs, it would be appreciated. I probably won't get to this for a week or two.
