I went to a lecture last night where Fred Ritchin spoke. He has worked closely with Sebastiao Salgado, and is a former photo editor at the NYT Sunday Magazine. He is currently a professor at NYU, and invloved with a web site called www.pixelpress.org. It's a site devoted to promoting documentary photography. There are some really interesting photographs, stories, and links within the site. Anyone interested in photojournalism should check it out. It's an excellent and thought provoking site.

Thank you Suzanne for that link. There's some excellent and very powerful work there. I've bookmarked it so I can go back when I've got a bit more time. Can I recommend another very similar site www.foto8.com. foto8 also publish a quarterly magazine which is highly recommended.
