I've developed Kodak/Fuji 400/800 film with my Tetenal kit. Since the last two times I've noticed the film has a pink cast when I take it out of the stabilizer and hang it. When the film dries the pink cast disappears. In fact even while drying the edges turn that amber brown as the film drains off the water.
Just wondering whether this signals something wrong.
Yeah, stabilizers can make film look weird when wet. I ran a roll of Ektachrome 200 (EPD) through C-41 Vericolor Stabilizer III today after having it cross-processed in C-41. (All E-6 films still need Formaldehyde stabilization, as do pre-2000 C-41 films.) The back side was an eerie blue-green, and the emulsion side was dark brown. Went away when it dried.
It's perfectly normal, and it's not because of stabilizer, I think it has something to do with refractive indexes; the dyes scatter light in a different manner when there is water in the film.
