My Exakta is displaying pinhole marks through its curtain shutter when used in bright sun. Has anybody attempted to fix this problem with diluted tool dip, or similar method? Other suggestions? Its my snappy cam, and I do love it so.

I hesitate to say this, because it will incite Leicaphiles to violence, but I fixed the shutter curtain on my old M-4 using some kind of black "liquid rubber" found in a hardware store and thinned with lighter fluid. The repair lasted more than 10 years, when I sold the camera to another photog. Last I knew he was still using the camera with no problems.

Thanks guys,
I was pretty sure it was a viable method, but it is reassuring to know that it has been attempted successfully before.
