Lunar eclipse last night on scanned FP-100C instant film.
The red moon was too dim for this film to record.... at the end of the eclipse (top) there was clouds and it was raining when I stopped the exposure after about 3 hours. So you can see the eclipse smoothly starting but it's mostly over when the moon appears again.

Pretty neat! Here in Pennsyltucky the temperature outside was about 12ºF, heading lower, windy as all get-out at 11:30 last night, so I decided I didn't need to see it! Approximately the end of January last year there was some similar event at 5:30 or so in the morning and I went out in 15ºF air to discover the vantage point I had chosen had inadequate view near the horizon where I needed it. "Maybe next year."

Isaw and followed it in Germany;visibility was good and bright but very limited color; not a subject worth getting all the gear out for;over hyped in my opinion as these things typically are.I saw the last one (4 years ago?) in Florida and it was very similar.

Fairly clear sky here, temp was -6f, had zero desire to go outside, went to bed.

Brrrr!!
I remember that one... I set my alarm, it went off, and then I said "nope", hit the button, and went back to sleep
But I knew this one was coming up soon at a reasonable time ( 9PM Pacific ).

We were lucky last night. The clouds parted only to the east just in time to for us to enjoy the eclipse. Just after maximal eclipse a heavy fog descended making viewing impossible. It was also strangely warm (23F) and no wind.

We had overcast conditions and snow the evening of the eclipse here in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Have to wait for the next one I guess. Cool idea for a photo though!

I was "prepared" to shoot the eclipse, but.... I seem to be missing a clamp screw on my Manfrotto 3001 tripod, so I had to re-fit that leg in the cold dark. Then real trouble in FINDING the moon in the limited field of my 500 mm mirror lens mounted to my Pentax K 5. Since my remote shutter releases seemed to have died, tried using the 2 second delay. All the time my fingers growing numb in our cold temperatures. 30 degrees is cold for this old guy. So....better luck next time!

Neat Idea I will remember that next time. Froze my tail trying for some telephoto shots but not enough lens enough lens.

I put out two cameras for the eclipse and left the shutter open from 6:30pm until 6:30am the next morning.

A 60mm 6x6cm format f200 stereo camera with Portra 400 (set up for crossed eyes)
