I picked up a Vist Kamera 9 hole shutter from ebay. Seems responsibly well made. Was going to make something myself, honestly.
Should give me a bit more versatility.

Looks good and handy! Might consider blackening the bevel. Looks like the front plate comes off in case that hole needs to be widened...
 
I converted an Isolette to a pinhole, and kept the shutter - I found I really liked having a cable release for pinhole. I keep meaning to buy a beater isolette and try the shutter on my 4x5 pinhole.

Cool,I started to try and convert an old range finder shutter, but by the time I made a cable release for it it would of been too much work for something premade for $50 USD.
Tried it out yesterday seems to work well.
 
I was looking at some of Vist's offerings a couple days ago.
Nifty shutter and his bellows cameras are unique and cool.
 
I picked up a M42 "pinhole lens" at a camera show a while back. Took a few test shots with it. Glass is better. :smile:
 
Will be interested to hear whether you end up liking this. I've been eyeing his/her listings for a while, including the pinhole turret and especially their new 8x10.

The shutter is very well built and solid, I couldn't make something for the price and if I did it wouldn't be as well built.
His 8x10 looks great, love the design. Large format pinholes are great to use as contact prints.

I've been shooting a lot with a Zero 810, which I love, but it isn't very portable. The 8x10 they have looks like it would be great for backpacking.

My 8x10 is only 50mm deep (has about 100 degree angle with .5mm hole) and made from light ply. On the other hand my 14x17 is made from heavy mdf and I would need a couple of sherpas to take it hiking.
With the bellows you will be able to optimize the focal length to the pinhole size, so could get quite a sharp picture (if not windy) or throw focal length out to get something interesting.
 
with your 8X10 does it vignette or do you get a full image?

A very interesting bit of kit, that I didn't know existed.

'Watching' the item at the moment on ebay UK, but I can see me ordering one by the end of the day. :smile:

For info on any ebay site, just put ' "Vist Kamera" Shutter with 9 pinhole "lens" ' in the search box and it should come up as the only item found.

No, I actually mean the physical angle of view that the shutter will allow. MrPinhole gives a relative angle of view for a given film size. If you took a line from the pinhole to the lip of the shutter and measured the angle, that's the true angle of view.
 
Using Copal 0 plus Skinkfoto Pinhole Pancake (Lens) for Copal 0 is much more versatile. One can then use all plates Pinhole, Zone plate, Zone Sieve.

3skrpc on ebay(site now working propery, store not blocked anymore) has now a universal shutter. its not a real shutter but one can reach 1/6 with cable-releases. i tested it with photoplug-sensor. also Grundner Shutter has approx. 1/6 sec quickest.

I will get Cosmic Circle 4x5 with viewfinder(see two other threads) plus additional shutter. Plates 18-20 or 22mm=) are now replacable. Its for copal 0-lensboard, not shutter since has not Copal-0-thread.). NB: cam can take 58 and 65mm lenses with tube. no helicoid!
 
Virgis is the owner of the Virgisst-ebay-shop selling Vist-cameras. btw: his 9-hole-shutter has the holes drilled the normal way no laser used. one day i will compare all of the plates 18-20mm and shutters. have the 18° cosmos circle-shutter by 3s-krpc. have all data now.
