Pic Pac Film Anyone?

I bought these two rolls for the spools but I might as well expose one and see what I can get. From Belgium. 1967 vintage. 80 ISO.

Side of the box says “March 1967” and an emulsion number.

I asked about the year as by 1967 the Gevaert plant long time was no more producing consumer films. Thus it may be one of their cine films.

Hmm...
I remember "Two Guys" as a discount department store in New Jersey in the 1960's.
The full name escapes me, but it was "Two Guys from....???". Maybe Hackensack?

The box says it's guaranteed, but it doesn't mention what exactly is is that they're guaranteeing. The lawyers were writing the copy even way back then.

Mine have the same boxes but are from 1975. The film is made in Italy. It still works nicely, believe it or not.

Fairly slow B&W films are quite resilient. You might need to give that Pic Pac film an extra couple stops of light -- expose at EI 10 or 20 -- and then consider stand or semi-stand development, since you probably won't find developing information unless it's printed inside the box.

I was thinking EI 20. There is a data sheet in the box. I’ll have to take a closer look at it. I remember it mostly was about exposure with flash.

Never shopped at Two Guys, but I suspect it's along the lines of "this is the pack to pick." It was, after all, a two-pack box.

I have three 127 cameras but only two really work for now. I'll finish those rolls soon and experiment with these next.

The Leaflet above proves that the film is not from 1967, but from before1964 and thus one of Gevaerts standard consumer films. The given year thus is the expiry year.

Heh. "Follow instructions on developer container." I wonder if this is old enough that all films still had the same developing time in a given developer?

We do not know how the film is designated on this leaflet. I assume as the manufacturer reveals himself, the original name of film is revealed there too.

I found a photo of a Gevapan film dated 1967 and already bearing the post-1964 company name. As yours is dated 1967 and bears the pre-1964 company name, the film most likely is from 1964 exactly.
