Hi All, here are some tips for using the new site.
Your APUG login should work on PHOTRIO. If you are from DPUG, and only DPUG your login should work as well. If you had an account on APUG & DPUG they will have been merged with your APUG account taking over (and now becoming your PHOTRIO account).
Please take into account we are still in development and have much more to fix and tweak. A full bug report list and fix details can be found in this thread: https://www.photrio.com/forum/index...ports-feature-requests-in-this-thread.153068/
On to the user guide:
Enabling or disabling the 3 main content (Workflow) areas of PHOTRIO (Analog - Hybrid - Digital). Simply check or uncheck the boxes next to the PHOTRIO logo. If you prefer a 100% Analog (APUG) experience at PHOTRIO then uncheck "Hybrid" and "Digital". With only "Analog" enabled you basically have APUG again. Here is a screen shot of the control area in the site header:
You can also adjust these workflow content settings on your user preferences page:
Also, note on your user preferences page, the option to disable the workflow indicators as seen here throughout the site:
On the same user preferences page, there is also the option to enable or disable the icons in your forum sidebar.
Keep in mind if you only have one type of content workflow selected in the site header such as "Analog", then no workflow indicators will show (You already know what workflow you are viewing so it is pointless to have "A" tagged to everything)
Posting new content on PHOTRIO and selecting your workflow content type.
This is only required for new top level content, such as 'New Thread', Gallery images, Classifieds, etc. It is imperative that you tag your content accurately and also respect the content and members of other workflow areas by keeping on-topic. If you are unsure where your content falls feel free to ask others in the Lounge forum or contact us.
*Some may ask, "If I upload a scan of an Analog image, is it considered 100% Analog or Hybrid? In the context of PHOTRIO, it is absolutely considered 100% Analog if your workflow was 100% Analog. The content post is to show a representation of a 100% Analog workflow, so definitely post it as Analog if that is the case.
Main content workflow areas on PHOTRIO are:
Analog Workflow- 100% Analog content
Hybrid Workflow- a mix of Analog & Digital
Digital Workflow- 100% Digital content
Mixed Workflow (all workflows post in these forums, and are designated a workflow at submission)
No workflow applies (PHOTRIO announcements for example)
If an area of PHOTRIO forums is 100% Analog, there is no content selection required when posting new content as we already know it's "Analog".
Mixed workflow forums like the "Classifieds" allow for all workflows to post, and select a content type as seen here:
This prevents us from tripling up on multiple forums for the workflows.
Here is the result of workflow selection in the Classifieds area. Notice the content type tags appear:
Now notice if I uncheck "Digital" in the site header switch, the digital Classifieds post vanishes:
This allows all members to use the same Classifieds but only see the content they prefer.
Media Gallery
The Gallery basically functions in the same way as the forums when it comes to content type:
The content type indicators are visible in the gallery thumbnails:
A few additional features:
The ability to list Social groups that you have joined in your avatar area. This is done via your user preferences:
This shows I have joined the new APUG social group, which is here:
https://www.photrio.com/forum/index.php?groups/apug.151/group
This social group will allow APUG members a place to keep in touch and post historical information about APUG.
Notice my avatar area now has "APUG" listed:
Also, note in the "Shooter:" settings we have added options for Analog, Hybrid and Digital. You can change those settings here in your personal details settings: Dead Link Removed
Mobile/Tablet browsing:
We have done a huge amount of work on the mobile tablet formatting. We do have dedicated apps coming soon (ETA 2-3 weeks). Until then you should have an improved mobile experience while you wait on the apps.
SSL
We have moved to a 100% SSL protected site. You'll notice this lock in your browser bar:
Your browsing on PHOTRIO will now be secure via encryption.
PHOTRIO News *(this section has gone back into construction)
We have a news page now that allows all members to submit news. You'll notice the News link in our main menu. It also ties into the content management system. We've made it as easy as possible, so when you paste a url into the news field it auto creates the submission for you, as seen here:
If the news does not load, try hitting your space bar to kick the link into gear. If you see no thumbnail, try cycling through the available images on the page here:
After you submit, the article will be approved by someone on our team. Feel free to post workshop news, reviews, even your own blog entries. If it's photo related and interesting go for it.
Also, once news is submitted a discussion thread for the news is auto created. You can then discuss the article by clicking next to the talk bubble (located bottom right of the article block:
That should be enough to get you started. Please direct all bugs and feature requests to the Bug thread:

Thanks!
