Hi All,

Our Member Blogs (or articles) system is now up and running. Rather than expect members to use our own blog system, this system allows us to link to your personal online blog articles or articles at your own website.. This is to share individual blog posts, so do not use a blanket link to your entire blog site. It's a great way to share your entries with the community and gain new visibility to your blog. Add your blog entry url and our system will do the rest.

Use the "Blogs" tab in our main menu.

click the add blog link on the blogs page:

Paste in your entry url, ensure this is to a specific blog post within your blog site, not a link to your entire blog site:

click "add your blog entry" and the entry shows on the main PHOTRIO Blogs page

There are view counts and ability to discuss the entry on PHOTRIO, but I suspect most will discuss on the external site.

Entries are approved as soon as I find out about them, you will not see it appear instantly until we manually approve it. We can't guarantee every entry will make it. We are looking for high-quality entries that the community will find of value. Also, quality over quantity, we want to avoid any one member overloading submissions.

We have a couple of entries now. I will add username and submission date to the entry blocks, should have that coded up later today.

There is a bug with your submission mechanism. I tried submitting a blog entry but got the following error:

file_get_contents(Dead Link Removed): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request

This is a blog entry hosted on my SquareSpace Web site.

There is a bug with your submission mechanism. I tried submitting a blog entry but got the following error:

Here's a bug (or maybe a feature) on my upload. I chose a vertical photo for the thumbnail, and the thumbnail as displayed is horizontal and squeezed in height.
Also, where does the title come from. I didn't have a choice and it's not what I would have chosen. Is it coming from the "title" field in the image metadata?

It's working better. I think I submitted the blog entry. There was one error message during my first attempt and I had to try a second time (some kind of crypto failure).
The thumbnail photo is not the one I wanted. Supposedly there were 16 images found that I was supposed to choose from. But the little left and right arrows did not show me any other image option.

Thanks mjork, we're still doing some tweaking but things are improving a bit. Blog approved as well as a couple of others who submitted.

I see my entry now. Thanks! Though the thumbnail photo (which is not the one I wanted in the first place) is shown all distorted and stretched into horizontal format.

Next fix is retaining the aspect ratio in thumbnails. If you supply me a link to a horizontal image for now I can try replacing it.

Don't be shy, if you run a photo blog feel free to share your posts to our blog page, it's as simple as copy/pasting your own blog entry url. It then links directly to your blog site and blog entry.
