Hi all,

does anybody here have any experiences with the PhotoTherm film processors? I came across one on ebay, and am wondering if that could be a viable option to lab processing for me.

I shoot editorially, and want to see if I can speed up film developing on crunch jobs (e.g. on nights and weekends, when labs are closed here) to stay competitive with digital. From online reading, it appears to be a painless machine that seems to do it all after initial set-up.

Any thoughts?
Is it fairly quick to load and process film once the chemicals are mixed up and hooked up to the machine? Anybody run into any problems regarding processing time, chemical replenishment etc.? What's your replenisher set-up, which brand bottles do you use?

Thanks for your thoughts!

We use one solely for e6 at work. Ours is leaky, one of the pumps is clogged a little and you need to lift up the blix to get it going.
It's pretty easy to load, it uses those plastic patterson 35mm/120 reels.
Pretty quick too.

It's just a little messy, or atleast ours is.

Phillip,

You need to get a hold of phototherm, mine has never leaked ever, even if you purchased it used, the people at phototherm are great to work with and will do what ever it takes to make sure it is working correctly.

You should give them a call or drop them a note, I am sure they would help to correct any problems you have.
