Photostock 2013
Harbor Springs/Good Hart/Cross Village, Michigan
June 20 - 23

Ditch the kids and pack up the car, it's time again for Photostock! A long, warm, mid-summer's day is sounding pretty good about now and it is never too early to start planning the party. I can tell people are looking forward as the Dead Link Removed tells me a healthy number of rooms have already been booked. Click on the link and book early. As always, mention Photostock and you'll get a good rate.

Polymer Photogravure Workshop w/Clay Harmon
One thing that is already confirmed is a visit from the one and only, Mr. Clay Harmon. Clay is going to be teaching a workshop in Polymer Photogravure in conjunction with the gathering, but it will start prior to the gang arriving. No need to mess up a good party by having to go to school. His workshop will be starting on Monday the 17th and going through to Wednesday the 19th. This way we'll be all clear by the time everyone arrives. There will be more on this later and registration will be open soon, but if you would like to reserve a spot, you can do it HERE. Be aware that there will be 6 spaces available and a deposit will be required at a later time in order to secure your place. Registration will be on a first come basis and those that signify interest now will be given first choice.

Call for Presentations
I'm working on a surprise guest or 2 for this year, but as always, I'd also like to open presentations to all of you that are planning to come. If you have anything in mind ranging from a demonstration to a presentation of your work or specific project, let me know and I will fit you into the schedule. It's a great way to practice your presentation skills among friends. If interested, you can contact me via the form found HERE.

I'm beginning to set-up the website for this year as we speak, but it is only in rough form so far. You can now either use Dead Link Removed or the new, permanent base for the event that I have secured - www.photostockfest.com. There will be a lot added as I convert the old site over to a Wordpress format, so stay tuned.

That's all for now, folks! I hope you all can come and have some more fun in the north!

Bill,
Made my reservation at the hotel, will be my first time at Photostock. Looking forward to the event and seeing all those I've met at other outings and excited to meet new friends.

Will be there again, look forward to seeing the old/new members. Thanks again Bill!

Yep, it will be #3! Finally got some time recently to print my Photostock 2012 images. The act of printing them brings back the spirit and joy of the event! Looking forward to seeing Clay's demo!

What a great event. Will have to miss this year as I'm going to NYC for a reunion with three close friends as all of us turn 50 years old this summer. Would you believe 3 of us were in kindergarten class together? Anyway, would any excuse to get to Michigan for this kind of thing would be great. Top of the list for the next one for sure! Best of luck for good weather and an awesome event!

Last year's Photostock was one of the highlights of my year, really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing a part of the country that was new to me. Not sure I'll be able to get there this year as we're planning some travel for later in the summer that will take the priority in time and money, but it's well worth going to Photostock if you haven't been.

It was greater Photostock for having you around last year, Suzanne! It would be great to have you back. Door is always open.

Dan! It wouldn't be the same without you, but I realize it isn't just up the road any more.

Oh I'm in again! yes yes yes, but won't be able to book my hotel until march when my vacation request is approved. Will be arriving on the 20th in the evening.

Looking forward to it!

I'll see if I can get the time off to come up. Had a great time last year.

Good to know Bill. will be good to meet Clay, and reconnect with Special K. I'll confirm with Ike, Thomas, and Steve if they are still going in a week or so as we are all going up to Northern MN for a shoot, and an overnight at Silver Bay. The ice stands a good chance of being good now that we are -5 today and onwards for a few days. As it stands i know Steve said he was coming this year.

Damn!! I wish I could make this!

I was up last week and the ice was starting to form pretty well on the shoreline of northern Lake Michigan. And as you said, with the cold, I'm guessing it is going to be spectacular up there. Have a great time and wear your spikes!

Bill, we are leaving early on Friday Feb 1st, and staying at the Americinn at Silver Bay. I know its a long shot, but If you wanted to join us, you certainly could... If you could get to Duluth, we could meet you, and we have 3 x 2 queen rooms between 5 of us now, you could share one of them.

As first timers last year, we had a great time. Learned lots, made new friends and came home fired up to work. We will definitely be back for 2013! Bill, what do anticipate the cost for the workshop with Clay Harmon will be?

Great that you are coming back!

As for Clay's shop, we are still running numbers, but hope to keep it below $400 including materials for the 3 days. That will be based upon a 6-8 person limit. I'll have more details soon. Glad you are interested!

I'm booked in for the 20th with my brother in law again. We'll be looking to hitch-hike a ride to O'Neal, as neither of us has a car that can take those roads. Hopefully there will be a caravan of sorts heading out there this year. I can't wait to see everyone!

Great! As soon as the snow melts I plan to get back into O'Neal to see how the road is. it got pretty bad going back in and some of the fisherman have been talking of trying to get the DNR back in there to smooth it a bit.
