Photostock 2012 - The Circus Continues!

Just sent a letter to all last year's registrants announcing the gig this year. it will be the last notice sent to that list, so if you haven't yet registered for this year and got the letter, be sure to register for this year to keep getting the notices.

Can't wait. I finally can go.

I'll be leaving MN Late Tuesday night early Wednesday morning to get into the Birchwood around noon to 1pm Wednesday... 2pm if i stop at the big chicken on the way for a full artery clogging brunch!! If anyone else is going up a day or so early, let me know. It will be good to be able cut loose for a while.

Very much looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new people. Thanks again to Bill for hosting this wonderful event!

All the best,
Daniel

I'm hoping to get up there Wednesday as well. I'll be sure to bring along some good hooch!

Looking forward to seeing everyone. I'll be doing a talk on Saturday on lith. My plan is to talk briefly about the process and techniques and spend most of the time comparing different papers, toning, exposure, development time etc using the same image. Seems to me that the variety of looks possible with lith is one of the biggest reasons to do it and it is really hard to see how the different materials work without seeing them in person. It would be great if the other lith people could bring some prints to compare different techniques people use.

I talked to Andrew Moore and he will be attending this years Photostock. He has a talk at the Museum in Grand Rapids on Thursday where we will pick him up. Most likely we will arrive on Friday morning at the Birchwood.
Sounds like a good opportunity to have your book signed!

Dan and Silke

It'll be good to see you, Alex...

Anywho we are going to stay at the Birchwood so will Jeff and Eva and Andrew Moore.

Silke,

Vinny aka (wildbill) is a photo guy who's parents have a holiday cabin in Cross Village. They lease it out. Sounds like Daniel Lin and Gim will be staying there... I'm at the Birchwood and will roll in around mid day on Wednesday.... Btw, i entered the wet plates of you and Daniel into a portrait show. Will see if i get juried or not. I'm looking forward to doing more this year.

Silke,

I know you have met Vinny. A couple years ago when I met you, Daniel, Jeff and Eva for the first time Vinny was there too. That was when we all met at Jeff and Eva's and shot at CassTech HS and the Packard Plant. I met Bill there at the Packard plant for the first time too, he filmed part of it. Vinny drove me around that day to the different locations and lunch. Super nice guy, thanks again Vinny!

Silke, we did meet in Detroit and I popped in to photostock a couple times last year but didn't hang around long. I'm up here right now and it's nasty. Icicles on the boat launch this morning but we did cath the gill netters coming in for some fresh whitefish.
That coat makes me look fat. Most folks say I'm pretty skinny when I'm not wearing it.

Huzzah! Room booked at the best western for Photostock!

Also, Print Exchange excellent, I was planning on bringing a bunch of prints already!
