I've been doing simple editing jobs with Photoshop Elements for the last 5 years with no problem.

Suddenly, today, when I try to start it, it informs me that it cannot start due to missing personalized information and then it shuts down.

Any thoughts out there or do I do a reinstall or an upgrade?

Thanks.

I have had this in other programmes, so I uninstalled it, restarted the computer, and then re-installed it and it's worked fine ever since. The software in my case was for an Epson v500 scanner

I got tired of trying to diagnose the problem and reinstalled late last night. It worked fine then.

Thanks.

A common fix for PSE problems is to reset the preferences :

Note: Deleting the preferences file is an action that cannot be undone.

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift) immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching.
Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.

A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements Editor.

I never deleted the preferences, but it said that they were gone. It never reset them at startup.

Thanks.
