I am having a solo photography show at the Western Reserve Historical Society: 10825 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

The show opens Oct. 24 and will close Jan. 15. It is three shows combined. There is a touring exhibit on “Building America’s Canals. They have a model layout of a river, mine and city. You build a canal using locks, aqueducts, bridges, tunnels. The kids have fun. The engineers are given cost - benefits to figure a real canal based on tools chosen. The Museum is bringing out all their vintage canal pictures and I will have thirty 7"x17” contact silver prints showing how I see it today. Ten of the images were commissioned by the museum for the show. This is my first museum show so things are pretty excited at our house.

If you have not seen John's photographs, they are fantastic. His subjects are well suited to this format and they are technically excellent. BTW I have not yet thanked you for hosting our last get together. It was great to see folks again.

Thank you for the kind words.
As to hosting, I always remember my wife’s sage advice to her shy teenage daughter twenty years ago. If you have the party you are sure to be invited and are the most likely to have a very good time.

John: congratulations, my friend. Is this on the campus at Western Case Reserve University? If so, I was in that building a couple of years ago when, I believe, an exhibition of Princess Diana's dresses was there (girlfriend is the Diana fan). Anyway, if it is the same place, there was some great work there at the time.

Dan,

Thank you so much. Yes, WRHS had the Princes Diana exhibit. The attraction was contagious. My wife and her best girl friend had to stand in line a long time to get in. I doubt that will be a problem for my part of this exhibit. Hurry up and retire so you can get back to traveling. We missed you at both Ohio gatherings, for your good company and our need for a Fire Warden. Jeff & Eva were scrounging around the house at 2 AM looking for a 5 gal jug to carry water back to the fire. I will make sure there is a spot for your tent next fall, especially if you bring your girlfriend.

John,

The show is great. Very nice collection of photos, and a great building as well. Definitely worth the trip down. And of course, good to see you, Dolly and the blondes again.

Congratulations on the show! I missed this announcement first time around. Thirty prints on exhibit is a nice body of work.
