I'm off to Boston in a couple of weeks to conduct and interview with a photography book publisher and wanted to get some advice on what photography galleries to visit whilst I’m there, I have Robert Klein and the Iris gallery written down, is the Museum of fine arts worth a visit? Specifically I am interested in alternative processes. I will also be heading down to Cape cod/ Nantucket.

Many thanks

Gallery Kayafas, the Photographic Resource Center at Boston Univeristy, Howard Yeserzki Gallery, Clark Gallery out in Lincoln, MA. Yes... the MFA is well worth a visit, though I'm not sure what photography they are showing at the moment, but if you head out to the Clark Gallery, then a visit to the Decordova Museum is a good idea. There's a small gallery specializing in vintage 19th c. photographs in Winchester called the Lee Gallery, and also in Winchester, the Griffin Museum of Photography.

If you are here in Sept. there is the New England Photo Biennial being shown at the Danforth Museum in Framingham. I have two prints in the show, and I think there will be some of David Prifti's wet plates there. The opening reception is on the 12th of Sept.

I'm not as familiar with galleries on the Cape, so I can't really help there, perhaps Drew will chime in with some thoughts.

Thanks Suzanne for the recommendations. I arrive on the 11th, so I might just pay Framingham a visit on the following day.

Dave... I learned of a show on the Cape in Provincetown, called All About Photography at Art Strand on view until Sept. 24th. The address is:

494 Commercial Street
Howland Street Entrance
Provincetown
www.artstrand.com

Thanks Suzuanne, i will be sure to check that out. A friend of mine called Jefferson Hayman (www.jeffersonhayman.com) is doing an exhibition at the Schoolhouse gallery in Provincetown too, so I will be heading over there, i love his work. Opening reception is 11 September, 7-10pm.
