photographing insects with polarised light?

has anyone tried this to reduce specular reflections? I'd imagine polas on light sources and over the lens.

Well, I just bought a dual polarizing filter for the OM ring flash. I have seen pictures of insects lit with this and it seems to work. It is a distinctive look. I haven't developed any of the film of the pictures I have taken yet, but will post up when I do.

To do this?
