Does anyone know how readily the Photographer's Formulary products are available in the UK? This is because I would like to try their version of the Ansco 130 formula.

No problems - I ordered some Glycin to make up Ansco 130 a few months ago (the other chems are readily available here) - took about 10 days to arrive. Email them first to get the postage costs.

Cheers, Bob.

I have in the past bought Pyrocat from them and found the service to be very good.

I occasionally purchase chemicals direct from the PF. It usually takes around two weeks to arrive.

Please note that I often get a Customs bill + Royal Mail handling charge to pay which makes it an expensive purchase. However some items like Glycin are simply not available here.

There may be problems with liquids through international post, and expensive. I've not tried it.

Mixing the Ansco 130 from chemicals is trivial as long as you have suitable scales (0.1g resolution - £20 or less on UK ebay).

Cheers, Bob.

A few years ago I bought some Glycin & a Nelsons toner kit from PF & it arrived promptly & I didn't have to pay VAT or duties when the package arrived at my home. Importing items from outside the EU is hit & miss with regard to VAT, sometimes you get charged & sometimes you don't, but as I understand it if the value of the goods is below £18 you shouldn't get charged VAT.

I would second Bob's suggestion to mix your own & all you would need is a 100g of Glycin from PF which will enable you to mix up several different Glycin formulas. The rest of the chemicals could be bought from say Silverprint.

The same, no problems with getting the goods but the after sales I found poor. Not answering any e-mails.

Incidentally, I have two 706gram packets of Tabular Grain Film fixer unwanted if anyone in the U.K wants to give it a go. Each bag making 4 litres. All unopened.
