Was sad to hear of her passing.
I agree she inspired a lot of People I disagree she didn't create a new field in photography. Albert Renger Patzsch did and gets too little credit for it. The Bechers are the post war continuation of the Neue Sachlichkeit Fotografie as done by Patzsch. Still like her work do not like the Düsseldorf School which is little more than a spiced up Version of the Neue Sachlichkeit with a bit of mininal art thrown in. But that's not the Bechers fault but the Art Market and the German Governments which desperately wanted a new german art at all cost.
Still she and her husband were great photographers.
