Howdy again Photrio,
I am wondering what methods exist to put a photo on a curved glass surface (a glass ball), but only removing or changing the structure of the glass itself. Not adding any secondary materials/chemicals.
The first obvious methods are engraving, etching and marking.
Then 3d laser engraving (bubblegrams) but these put the photo inside the glass as opposed to on the surface.
Are there other methods out there that you know of? Burning an image or something?
Reason for asking is that a curved surface is a much harder and more expensive problem that I had anticipated since I'd like actual photographic quality. (grayscale or binary)
The other more obscure thing I thought of is photosensitive glass, but photosensitive glass does not come in balls, as far as I can tell.
