Photo stores in Houston,TX area?

I'd due in Houston in a couple of weeks on business and will have some time to spare during the week.

Can anyone recommend some photo stores worthy of a visit?

I'm thinking of used large/medium format or darkroom gear since materials could be a nightmare to transport back.

There are two stores. Camera Co-op on Durham Dr. and Houston Camera Exchange on Richmond Ave.

Both are woth a visit. Exchange might have a bit larger selection, however Co-op is also a great place to look.

Co-op has my vote. Also keep in mind that Houston has a thriving photography community. Places like Houston Center for Photography, FotoFest, and MFAH are well worth a visit.

I just heard that co op threw in the towel. Can any give details?

Not sure. Matt told me in March they were looking at a new location to move to by mid April.
Haven't been in to know the latest. In mid April I got a post on Google plus that they had a Nikon
digital in stock, still at the same place. I'll have to stop by there tomorrow for the latest info.

I drove by there about 3 weeks ago. There was a "For Lease" sign out front but no sign that had their new location. I call every week and the recording says "This number has been temporarily disconnected". I hope they are in the process of getting into a new location and not closed permanently.
