showing soldered blue wires

I need to double check that one of two
blue wires does need to be resolderer and the point it goes to, before I reattach it.

I hope someone here has made such a closeup of their Japan built 285HV.

I tried to find a YouTube video of this flash unit, but none I've seen give a close, clear look at that area.

Cheers.

I hope you get it working. I just repaired my Nikon SB-28 and found a manual on line. Do you have the manual, the site from which I got my manual has many flash repair manuals. Anyway, figure #7 shows two blue wires, maybe that helps.

Thank you both, it is all helpful and it looks to be straight forward.

While I have mostly Vivitar 283s, the 285s really do a great job, and I need this material and advice to keep them doing their job, when called upon.

Be Safe, Be Well and, Godspeed to you both.

I feel the same way about my Rollei E36RE and Nikon SB-28 flashes.
