Search on Photrio only shows a few mentions but nothing being discussed. And this may seem like a sponsored article. It isn't but quick search of the net will reveal a high praise and in my opinion deservedly so.

Photo Klassik International is the English language version of its German sibling. It was a Kickstarter campaign to get it off the ground too.

I was introduced to it by accident and immediately fell overwhelmed. At this point there have been 5 issues published, it is a quarterly with per issue or subscription based delivery. Prices include shipping and vary by destination. All 5 issues are still available for purchase.

Main reason for bringing it up is the quality of content with 100% analog dedication. Variety of authors/contributors from young & beautiful to old, grumpy & ugly make it a pub for everyone (interested and/or curious about traditional photography).

Paper quality is top, images are well chosen, articles cover everything from equipment, to composition and processing with industry news thrown in as well. Very few ads in between, which makes it so much fuller as a reader's magazine. Plain fun to go through and no side skipping into pixeloworld.

I do hope this is a sustainable effort, not cheap, yet so needed. Since subscription pricing is not overly aggressive, I'm sticking to issue by issue direct purchase for now.

No, that is not correct. The original German edition is very different to the international version.
Different publishers, different authors, different graphic design, different number of editions per year, different content. The editions are not the same at all. You will not find the original German editions translated and then published as international edition and vice versa.
The people behind the international edition have bought the right to use the name PhotoKlassik for their international prints. That's the connection.

Best regards,
Henning (one of the regular authors of the original German PhotoKlassik)

Well, not what I wanted to mean by that. They are related are they not?

No, not really. Both are working independently.

Best regards,
Henning

Thanks, I never went beyond purchase page on tier web site. Looking at it now they are clearly separating themselves from the German Photo Klassik. Although same naming is confusing in that sense.

To be clear, I started this thread because I felt the magazine's target audience and quality deserves a dedicated thread. Its development and progress in expanding subscriber base is still key to sustainability. Price at 14.90 EUR + postage i snot one to be taken lightly, but it is unique in just about every way and worth a try.

Here is an interesting story told by Photo Klassik International editor Charys Schuler.
