Photo editing or something else out of control

Hi everyone,

I’m bit dissatisfied with my achievements in terms of taking photos, scanning and editing them, so basically all or at least I don’t know where is the problem.
I don’t know what’s going on I just kinda lost control over them.
All I get at the end after editing are these so called photos.
I do everything what I’ve done before but it seems it's just not the same anymore.
The film is FP4, developed in Rodinal 1+25, scanned with a Nikon D3200 and a Nikkor macro lens, and edited in PS.
The negs look fine though I haven’t attached one but I will later on.
All the photos just look flat or if I boost the contrast the highlights are blowned and if I control the highlights the outcome is what you see: flat.
Maybe it’s only an editing issue as I’m no expert but I’ve tried everything to get better looks.
If you can tell me your opinion and give me some advice it would be much appreciated!
As I can't even upload a photo here as it always says there's an error and the only answer I could get from an admin is that I have to clear the cache and though I've done it and checked on several browsers now without success I can only say that I can send you the photos by email if anyone is in this.
Also an update I can't even upload a phone screenshot as it says the file is too large. I thought that it's a forum dedicated for photos.

Well, that's a lot of frustration in one post.

For the type of evaluation you're asking for, I would resize the photo to a "mere" 1920 pixels wide (or 1280 tall if it's portrait). That way it can be viewed on HD monitors fairly easily, without breaking the server or the network. Also, save as "high quality jpeg". The artifacts from jpeg compression will be mild enough no one will notice.

As for uploading, we'd have to see the error-- which the simple version, you could take a screenshot and upload that, except... you're having problems uploading. So that's an issue. Is there any more detail on the error message?

As for phone images, again, they're just too large-- phones are now capable of producing 50+ megapixel images, and Photrio was never set up for huge image uploads. You can resize those as well, and should be able to upload at a smaller size. Since detail and resolution aren't your concerns (probably), you shouldn't need to upload an original image-- a resized version should be sufficient, as long as it's not teeny-tiny.

If you're able to edit the photos, you should be able to resize them. Why not upload the photos to something like Imgur, then post a link to that. I find Imgur to be very simple to use, and it offers lots of different ways to link your photos. Mine are usually small for this forum, around 200 kb. No need to load down the website w/ large files when the small files work just as well in most cases.

Okay, I’ll resize them and will see the outcome. As I wasn’t able to upload a screenshot which I thought it’s definite yes I sort of gave up.
