I'm recently returning to 4x5 architectural photography. I don't have a darkroom, nor do I want one. Any advice on having details in my gray? I know to expose for shadows. Basically, is the Zone system good for me to half-way use, i.e. I don't do my own developing?

Thank you.

My first advice would be to discuss the results you are obtaining with your lab.
Historically, photographers worked closely with the knowledgeable people at their lab. Those relationships are more rare now, but they still exist.

You need to know what you want...the quality of a real professional labs work depends on your ability to tell them what you want and the professional capability of the lab...and your willingness to pay a premium to compensate for your inability to do that demanding work for yourself.
