Phillips 8x10

I knew that the Phillips cameras were well thought of. However, I never suspected that a Phillips 8x10 camera would sell on that auction site for over $5,650 dollars! Rather amazing, and makes me pleased that there are still those who are using film, and who think that film cameras can be worth a special premium. Still and all...over five thousand dollars...wow.

5600 clams? Someone must be desperate IMO. Even phillips himself said to go out and buy a chammie at 1/2 this selling price, you could buy a few great lenses, tripod, meter, and lot of film too!

If any of the disappointed ten unsuccessful bidders are readers here, I will gently console you in the sorrow of defeat. For a somewhat lesser figure I will happily brighten your day with a gently worn 8x10 RH Phillips Advantage, the predecessor to the Compact II. It is not brand new, but Dick fine tuned it and made several improvements based on the evolution of the breed. We can work through your disappointment and hour of need. All that I would want is a significant kaaa-ching on your part. Do you like panoramas? Perhaps we could discuss a matched set, with film holders, lenses, baby jogger.
