There was once a lot of discussion about the origins of LPL enlargers.
Some said the company was from the UK others said Japan.
I have a suspicion that LPL manufactured the chassis of Philips enlargers and that they share some of the same parts.
The Philips negative stage looks very similar to the LPL and the negative carrier inserts .
I had a Philips PCS 2000 and still have a negative insert labled LPL from it.
This negative carrier and Dursts are the best I have used.

Does anyone have more on this question??

may I add , LPL possibly built the enlarger, Philips the light source on Philips products.

I have a Philips 150 but don't have an LPL to compare. I can say that it is a very well built enlarger. Clever design too.

I have Philips PCS 130 (and also PCS 2000) and LPL C7700 (which looks to be pretty much the same as LPL 670).

Negative carriers are not the same. In fact, I can't see any parts that would be interchangeable apart from the lensboard.

Sorry I should be more precise.
I am comparing the universal negative carriers with the inserts for different formats..
The Philips also share a similar but not the same fine focus knob.

Universal carriers are not the same, nor are inserts.

As said, I can only compare my LPL C7700 to PCS 130/2000, but according to this, LPL 670 will have the same carriers as C7700.

The Saunders/LPL 670 is an LPL7700 - just rebadged (for some inexplicable reason) for the US market.
