It's being reported on the LF Forum that Phil Davis has died.

He is the guy who created the Beyond The Zone System or BTZS.

Sad news.

Sad indeed, perhaps the nearly last of his generation of accomplished, talented and modest photographers who spent much of their energy as educators both at universities and as workshop providers.

I took Phil's BTZS workshop in Bisbee about a decade ago and it remains the only photo-workshop that was worth the money- and it was great fun as well.
