Petzval lens adapted to Musashino Kōki Rittreck 6x9.

I have adapted an unbranded Petzval to my Musashino Kōki Rittreck 6x9 mirror reflex camera.
I think the result looks truly majestic.

I am currently shooting my first roll of film on it, and will share here once it comes back from the lab.



 
Looks awesome! Having done a lot of odd 6x9 experiments myself recently, I approve! Looking forward to the pictures.
 
So... first roll is back, and I have quite some issues to fix.

1. there are light leaks.
2. the film loading was messed up, the first frame taken at 30% into the roll, missing the last 3 images or so. I had wound the spool until I saw (1) in the frame counter, too deep into the roll. Not sure why.
3. the focus test shows that it focused 2cm too deep. I had focused the ground glass at +00cm, and the +02cm is in focus.



 
As long as the shutter is working, that's the most important thing. I've occasionally searched out these cameras over the years but never found a good copy at a reasonable price.

Yeah, the shutter is in pretty good shape, other than perhaps the 1/200 and 1/400 being too slow.
When I got it, the shutter curtain was full of holes, but I took a chance on it, and patched the curtain with liquid tape. That method works well.
If you can find a Rittreck with deteriorated shutter curtain, it is definitely worth taking a chance on it.
Here are the before/after pics of the shutter curtain. (A light was shining inside the chamber in both pictures.)

 
If you are planning on using this camera a lot, you should consider having the curtains replaced. Patching them like that will affect their suppleness and weight, which will likely cause issues at the faster speeds.
 
Yes, you can buy curtain material and fix it yourself if you are skilled enough or gutzy enough. I have a like new roll film holder in its original box up at my cottage. Can't remember where I got it. I'll have to take a practice roll of 120 and see how it spaces out. I got the back hoping to find a camera body in good shape, but one never came up and I lost interest.

I have sealed the film holder, and am ready to try again, this time with a Hermagis Anastigmat 1:4.5 210mm.

Loaded with Ilford Delta 100, this time.
