I do a fair bit of wood working, including trying to finish off the cabinetry in my darkroom (exposing room, really)... anyway, as I do a fair bit of wood dying, using anilines, and, well... being not all that cautious... I usually end up with my fingers dyed some pretty strong colours for a few days. I had the finger dye job again tonight. Just on a lark - I thought I'd try dipping my fingers in a permawash/water solution, just to see if it would do anything. After the first 40 seconds or so - I decided it just WASN'T going to work. Then a miraculous thing happened - the colour started clearing pretty rapidly! The only possible flaw I can think of in this observation - is that I was soaking in pretty hot water, so it could also be that the increased blood circulation was removing it... though it seems a bit TOO rapid - and the permawash took on a pretty good colour after this, too.
Anyway- I'm just saying... if you find yourself with some stains you don't really know what to do with... there's another option!
