The ILFORD formula that is identical to D-76: Is it pronounced 'ID TWO' or 'ID ELEVEN'? - David Lyga

I know the difference between Arabic and Roman but I wanted to know for sure if the name of the formula was stated correctly. Sometimes people simply place '1' where 'I' should go. "Eleven" then should be correct. I hope. - David Lyga

Now we have a disagreement. There is no consensus. Where is Simon Galley? - David Lyga

Ilford ID2 is a totally different, MQ, universal developer. ID11 is the D76 equivalent.

Ilford has/had both ID-2 and ID-11, formulas can be found here and here. It is clear from these two pages, that ID-11, not ID-2, is equivalent to Kodak's D-76.

The definitive answer was given by Rudeofus. There can be no contest to this information. Case closed. I was surprised by how many other people did not know this. - David Lyga

The real question is why did it take Kodak 75 formulas to get to D-76, but Ilford only needed 10 to get to ID-11?

The problem started with you Americans using the Roman figure I... for Arabic numbers.

all and the true answer may only come from Ilford but, I also call it 'ID eleven'; not sure why.

ID2... ID11... IDK.

No David that is not the dumbest question that you ever posed. It is a good question. So if you want to find your dumbest question you will have to dig much deeper than that. If I were you, I would not bother to think about it.

A similar issue I have got with those type fonts that use the same shape for the lower case "l" and the capital "I" ... and of course the Roman"I"...
