SOLD!

I picked up this Spotmatic on the boards here at the end of Jan. and this is the story.

I had an older 55 1.8 Super Tak already so needed a body to explore some Takumars. Unfortunately my 55 1.8 won't get infinity for some reason. It may have been dropped in a previous life.

So, I don't need this Spotty anymore so am going to pass it on here if anyone could use it.

I replaced the mirror foam but rear door foam will need replacing.
Meter works but you will need to sort out the 1.3 battery issue. I tested it with 675 hearing aid batteries and appears to be in good working condition.
Film advance/shutter cocking is a bit squeaky so realistically a CLA would be in order but the shutter sounds good but has NOT been bench tested.

So if you need a "user" Spotmatic SP F hit me up.
Lets say $25.00 usd shipped to the CONUS via PayPal gift. If you don't like the gift option you will need to cover the fees.
This is going to be "AS-IS" sale ( no returns please) considering it's in user condition and the price.

I'll consider international sale for established apuggers but it hardly seems worth shipping this overseas.

Thanks for looking and braving that long winded description!

There is no 1.3v battery issue with a Spotmatic!

if I didn't have too many 35mm cameras inc a Spotmatic F already I'd snap this up

Me too... but I bought a very nice F last year for $20.

Steve, my bad.
There is a regulator in there so any reasonable battery that fits with work?

Is this correct? (I'm used to Nikon )

Oh, and btw this is going out to Bill this afternoon.
Thanks Bill.

All the spotties used a bridge circuit that made their meters voltage-independent.

All of the spotmatics?

Now that steve jogged ye ole memory I remember a thread.
I thought maybe one of the earliest ones was 1.3v.... but I'm pulling from diminished capacity

When I get it I'll check it with a gray card.

Haa. Maybe a 12% card.

Yes, all of them. All but the F have a standard bridge type configuration with the meter coil in the usual position. The F has a meter with two coils. One takes the current from the light sensor and the other takes a pre-set current set by the ASA dial, f stop and shutter speed. The two coils are in anti-phase so that at the correct exposure, the net movement of the meter needle is zero (if my memory is correct).

Which basically means that someone needs to buy this great camera for an even greater price and not worry about which cell to put in it as just about anything which fits and makes contact will work!

Steve,
Bill already got it and it's waiting to be picked up now by my beleaguered postman.

The USPS is in dire straits so they cut personnel, so in my area now the mail carrier is doing maybe 3 routes compared to what they used to do.
