Hi, apologies if this has been answered somewhere else I couldnt find anything.

I am looking to buy a Pentax m42 Super Multi Coated Lens for my Fujica st801. I was wondering if anyone knows if the lens and the camera are compatible?

I have read elsewhere that for some people the Pentax lens has gotten stuck on the camera, has anyone had this issue?

Will the Pentax lens work with stop down metering? Will the pin on the rear of the lens cause the aperture to permanently be stuck open?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

As I recall one pin M42 lens will work in stopped down metering mode. The later 2 pin Super Tak lens for Spotmatic F and ES I and II may cause trouble as well later Mamiya 2 pin lens.

I'd just look for a Fujinon lens for that camera and enjoy open aperture metering.

Fujinon lens are very bit as good as Pentax if not a tab better, harder to find and often more expensive.

I have an ST801. It's a great camera. I found it at a yard sale for $10 complete with the 50/1.4 lens which is VERY hard to find.

Tamron made a Fuji ST adapter for its AdaptAll lenses. And, Vivitar made an adapter for its TX mount lenses.

If you shop for a Fujinon ST lens, make sure the tab on the rear of the lens (for aperture info) is still there. Some people filed off the tab so the lens would mount on other M42 cameras.
