I just picked up a Pentax KX, and it's the most beutiful thing I've ever seen. Unfortunately, there is a light (but quite distracting) smear on the inside of the viewfinder. I don't really wanna know how that got there.
I'd imagine to clean it off, I'd have to remove the prism, and that scares the hell outta me, so I figure I'll take it in to a professional and let them do a whole CLA on it, just because.
My question is this: are the focusing screens between the KX, KM, and K1000 SE series interchanable? The K1000 SE has a split-image focusing aid (giving it the SE designation), while the KX was made with both a split-image and a microprism aid. I'd really like the split-image. If I pick up a busted K1000 SE, can I just have the repair guy install its focusing screen into my KX?
