Minolta made some 110 cameras too. I've never seen results from the Minolta or Pentax. I know the Kodaks and Vivitars were awful. Kodak and Fuji long discontinued the film but I've read Lomography may be making it. Check out film availability before you buy.

Lomography sells 110 film, ISO 200 which I think the camera will treat as ISO 80 unless you file down the ridge to get ISO 400.

There are still plenty of working Pentax 110's out there to buy.

Here's a scanned shot of mine from my last outing with a Pentax 110. As you can see, it's quite grainy, which is likely a combination of old film and small negative size.

I have the Minolta 110, I like the macro feature, it's great if you like grainy little images.

Using small cameras like these and the Minox is enjoyable because they can be taken anywhere at any time. The grain doesn't bother me; I accept it as a characteristic of the format and just enjoy the image as a whole.

The ones we sold had no meter, a viewfinder but no rangefinder and a lousy lens. With the Kodaks we sold a plain version, a flash version, and a flash version with telephoto lens. The telephoto lens was a piece of plastic that slid in front of the regular lens. I kind of remember selling a Vivitar with flash too. These cameras produced unsharp images and were worse then the 126 cameras that they replaced. I always tried to talk people into buying a Canon Sureshot 35mm instead.

Anyway, Is the the mirror possibly sticking due to deteriorated foam that has become gummy? I don't have a Pentax 110 anymore, so I don't even remember if they have foam, but that would be where I would start. After that, maybe it needs to be lubed? The repair manual you linked to doesn't even show the mirror from what I saw.

With fresh batteries and bright light (daylight) for a short exposure, will the mirror not come down or take too long to come down?

Don't know about Europe but in the US on ebay these cameras are all over the place like a rash. Some are asking silly prices but many are available with a lens for less than $50 as a BIN. So if repair is unsuccessful on your current one and you really want to shoot them then they are plentiful here in the US. Lomography sells both color and B&W film but it is priced at $8 a roll here. I shoot Minolta 16 submini's but load my own B&W film at less than $1 per 20 exposure roll. However the only Minolta cameras using 16mm film in their own cartridges and with a comparable frame size are the QT and MGS models. All the other 16mm models used the smaller 10X14mm frame size. Wish I could advise the OP about repair of his camera but I have no personal experience with this model. The Pentax 110 SLR's were cute and the later Super model had a 1.5 stop backlight compensation provision if I recall correctly, however they suffered from the same problem as all 110 cameras, full exposure automation with no full manual override, too limiting for me.

OK lovely working camera is in my hands and ordered Lomo 110 film E6.90 a piece ! but when I want to respool the empty 110 cassettes can I use this film ??
