I know everyone says that the old "AOCo" logo for Pentax camera is supposed to look like a pentaprism, but something is bugging me about that: first, it has six, not five sides (cf. http://www.cameraquest.com/pentorig.htm for the AOCo logo). Second, it looks nothing like a pentaprism (cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentaprism).
On the other hand, it really, really looks like a nice silver grain, like this:

But given that Asahi Optical used this logo before WWII, would that make any sense? Was electromicrography even advanced enough then to see silver grains? If it's the case that Asahi knew nothing about the shape of silver grains, does it mean that I've opened a trail of dubious associations that will bring me right to the True Nature of Jesus as he was a photographer in Judea, known for its bitumen?
