Pentax 67ii "P err"

I have P67ii that stops shooting and shows this error message once in a while. Usually it disappear after I dettach and reattach lens/prism or turn it on/off but the last time it happens very often I couldn't even finish a roll and had to waste couple frames.
I heard that this is a common problem. My guess is that's related to electronics. My question : is this something that can be fixed 100% or a tech can just bring it to say 90% times the camera will work?
I'm contemplating if a service will worth the money/not

At least until 2-3 years ago the Pentax 67II was fully repairable for any Pentax official service center. Mine had a serious repair of the winding mechanism.

It will be expensive but less than buying a new one.

my 67ii developed an issue. There are no longer any parts to fix or repair any of the pentax 67 models, so if you need parts you need to find another body to use for parts. Im looking for a new camera to replace mine, and it really sucks having to do that! I feel for you, good luck.

This is going to be happening to everything. If it's not common and mechanical, it's going to be bad.

Clean every contact, every place that conducts power. Buy new batteries, from different sources. Check batteries and power points with a multi-meter. I had a F2 crap out on me, current wasn't getting to the meter head. The camera works fine,,I have too many I gave it away.

I cleaned the ae finder contacts and replace the battery before it gets this worse but still it was acting up once in a while. I will measure the battery and buy new one if needed and clean battery contacts
I planned to keep this cam forever but I'm not sure now

Whenever I find myself envying the advantages of the 67II over my 6x7 MLU (better grip, better viewfinder, brighter focusing screen etc), I remind myself it also has issues of its own. Another common one seems to be faults developing in the winding mechanism.

The newest Pentax 67 II is about 10 years old - there may be some NOS parts; certainly there are donor bodies. The oldest, first, Pentax 6x7 cameras are 50 years old - who knows how long the components of it's electronically released shutter will last, whether in a particular camera or a donor?

Before buying my Pentax 6x7 MLU, I was surprised to discover it was not fully mechanical - for the last few years I've been deliberately trying to avoid buying any camera with electronic operations. Yet I bought it because it really appealed to me.

True, although mine is the later MLU model. Still, I deliberately paid more and bought one that was in near mint condition (from Japan, where mint actually means mint) so as to have the best chance of having no issues with it. The only thing I had to do was replace the old foam seals, which were crumbling apart with age.

Your point about battery operation is valid though; that's one of the things which is most appealing about totally mechanical cameras like Hasselblads.

I just checked again and it seems the error message appears simultaneously with advance lever problem so maybe the problem actually is in winding mechanism which triggers the error and not vice versa.
Can anyone with film advance problem confirm if you also see this error message?
