Just got a 35/2.8 from ebay. Like a dummy I didn't think t ask if the blades were slow or sticky this lens does tend to get them more than most combination weak spring and and oil. this seems to be a weak spring i.e. no visible oil. Just checked with the seller and he will refund though he said it worked fine on his NEX. I will say I got it about half what it usually goes for and getting it claed would put it at about what keh sells them for when they have them. Would you keep it see how it works cla when needed or send it back and keep looking?

Are you using it on a dumb adapter like he was? Ie: stopdown metering? Or are you using it on a K-mount and need the fast actuation?

If you're OK with stop down metering, keep it if it is in otherwise good condition. If not, send it back/get it fixed before using.

It's on a k mount. Looks like I'll be sending it back across the border to Canada. Hoping the customs forms and shipping aren't to bad

I had this lens with slow blades and it was simple to take the mount off and clean things with lighter fluid, and put it all back together. However, 35mm f2 M series is sharper.

Actually decided Sunday to send it to Eric for a CLA last Sunday after a quick email exchange. His quick response and ballpark quote makes it a no brainer to me. The f2 35 may be a technically better lens but I can't justify the price, hell I haven't spent that kind of money even on a medium format lens .

I have three or four of the 35/2.8s as well as a 35/2. I find the f/2.8s to be very sharp. Is the f/2 lens sharper? I don't know because I never tested then side by side.

I need to get a few lenses worked over, and have been looking for someone to do it. Who is Eric, and how are his prices?

Thanks!
