I am testing how a couple of papers respond to toners. I will mark the print before toning, but sometimes I change my mind on how long to tone. I would like to be able to mark the print after the rinse and before washing to reflect the change.

Do any of you have recommendations on a pen or marker that works well on wet prints?

Thanks,

Allen

not a pen or marker, but an art store recomended a pencil... Stabilo All 8008. It writes on just about anything, and when I want to make a quick note on a wet print mid-process is works great. I use this pencil to sign the back of prints, because it's dark without pressing too hard.

Terrific. Thank you both for the tips. A pencil, who'd a thunk it. Kind of reminds me of Nasa spending millions on a pen that works in zero gravity--the Russians used a pencil.

I think I have a china marker somewhere in the house. If I can find it, I'll give it a try. Now, to the darkroom.

Thanks again.

That's what I use Allen. Either a standard #2 or a mechanical with HB lead. A softer lead would be nice but they are not as easibly obtainable. The #2/HB is just soft enough to write lightly on the paper without any undue pressure on the writing tip.
